Improve OBB Labeling: Configurable Rotation Step & Angle Display Precision

• I have searched the X-AnyLabeling model_zoo and found no similar model requests.

Description

For a special reason I need to a very precise rotation angle when do labelling for OBB dataset. The accuracy is 0.05 degree.
Unfortunately, with shortcut X and C the minimum step is 1 degreed. Could you please allow us to config this step? How can I do it now?

Modify this file:
\anylabeling\views\labeling\widgets\canvas.py

Then search for these two lines:

LARGE_ROTATION_INCREMENT = 0.0087
SMALL_ROTATION_INCREMENT = 0.001745

You can change these values to adjust the rotation amount for Z/X and C/V keys.

These two values are in radians, not degrees.

• LARGE_ROTATION_INCREMENT = 0.0087 ≈ 0.5° (degrees)
• SMALL_ROTATION_INCREMENT = 0.001745 ≈ 0.1° (degrees)

In other words:

• Pressing Z / X rotates by about 0.5° each time.
• Pressing C / V rotates by about 0.1° each time.

The feature you mentioned is not available in the original version, but my custom version has it. You can fine-tune the angle's decimal values in CTRL+E.

You can also use the current AI for custom modifications. After all, it is an open-source project, so you can clone a repository and then use AI to modify the project freely according to your unique needs.

Inspired by your perspective, why not also display the width and height of the rectangle? This way, the adjustments can be visualized alongside the numerical values.

I'm happy to let you know that in the latest version of X-AnyLabeling, we've implemented both of the features you were looking for. You can now customize the rotation step directly, and the rotation angle display in OBB labeling defaults to two decimal places, providing more precise feedback right out of the box.
