admin/admin not working

I just got xpresso version 21.8 installed yesterday and have been attempting to login using admin/admin.
It has been running over night.
I can bring up the login page without issue but when I try to login using admin/admin it gives me a login failed error.

Note: the VERSION file says 20.12.

Exactly the same problem on a fresh install!

Reboot your server and than start again the EXpresso as advised in the § 4. "Start you engine" in the https://github.com/CiscoTestAutomation/xpresso#readme
After that I was able to log in as described.
The reboot may be especially important if the initial setup modified the sysctl.conf file (vm.max_map_count=262144) and if during the first start-up a lot of updates was installed.
