Text selection context menu problems

1. When selecting text, copy functionality is broken by Manifold context menu.

Scholars are pointing out this goes against Open Access standards and requirements on OA texts. See also related issue #3704

Expected behavior:

Context menu offers "Copy citation" feature which copies selected text into clipboard in the form of citation with cited publication requisities.

2. Context menu contains a label for sharing on obsolete private tech platform

Even when not platform set up in Admin interface or desirable to use, context menu contains the proprietary corporate label

Expected behavior:

Context menu does not contain proprietary corporate labels unless explicilty set in Admin interface.

@michal-klodner Good morning. With regard to your first item, I am unclear if you are speaking to a citation concern or specifically a limititation around copy/pasting text from within Manifold.

If the latter, that concern was addressed in the last release v.8.1.1, and readers can now select text and copy/past text from within the Manifold reader.

In our next release later this year we will be making it possible for admins to create a custom citation for a text, text section, or resource that readers can use in their scholarship.

I do not consider browser Copy functionality in browser context menu overriding as a bug, when it is intended to provide the functionality by application context menu. As Manifold includes "Share" label in context menu, that is what is usually used for sharing the text by various means, email, copy to clipboard etc.

I found instances of Manifold, where the browser Copy functionality is accessible, but these instances do not disclose the Manifold version. Is that what was changed in 8.1.1?

We will surely appreciate the citation feature you mention, thanks for that.
