reversed extruder direction still a thing?

Hi.

I have been strugeling getting my ender 5 pro working again.
But the firmware om the creality site has this wierd thing causing the extruder to run in the wrong direction.
So I have been seaching for a better .bin file to flash.
SInce I am a noob I avoided this github place coz I asumed I had to compile myself which should be easy using arduino ide but after stumbling arrround a bit it turned out arduino and 4.2.2 boards is a no go. and the vscode disco party.
anyway I discovered there are also prebuild binaries here which is awesome! I managed to flash firmware-20250624-062343.zip about 5 months young but some how the extruder still runs backward.

So is this just a forgotten thing? How are othe people using this binaries? what am I missing? I got a lot of hits on google about reversed extruder so I think its a well known issue?

Its a nice firmware I like the option to disable soft end stops

If you don't feel like modifying the config and re-building, you can just flip the E stepper motor plug 180°.

If the configuration that the build is based on is actually wrong for shipping machines, then the E direction should be changed in that configuration. We rely on reports from users to know these things.

Thank you for youre time thinkyhead. if it is just a hardcoded software setting/flag it would be super usefull to be able to set it in the printer. Specially if it is such a common issue. (like the disable softendstop is there now)

Flip 180 so just reverse all wires?

I swapped pin 1 and 4 like many said via google searches but now the extruder does not even move not even when putting the wires back in original order :(

Is that with all firmwares? Did you damage your motherboard by chance?

I most likely damaged my motherboard.

but I gave up and dug out my old ender 3 and printing on that one now. ( a whole new set of new old issues for me :) )

Sorry I was not looking to blame any one. I was just thinking if its easy to add as a setup function it would help a lot of people since many seem to run into the same problem. But maybe its not simple at all I dont know.

1 2 3 4 => 4 3 2 1
