Clarification for account banned on Discourse

Hello,

I was banned earlier today from Discourse for the reason "In the wrong place" after submitting a thread where I have aired my grievances on the current state of the Nix community.

I took a gander over the moderation log figuring that I might find some clarification there only to find no mention of the ban listed. I believe the ban may have been a mistake or misuse of authority which is why I have asked here for clarity and transparency.

I sincerely hope that I can be proven wrong over any misgivings I have toward the moderation team.

Indeed, there seems to be a missing ban entry for this alt of yours. The others were:

• @sarosa:infosec.exchange was banned on Matrix as an alt of falaichte for ban evasion
• @ailunarenth:tchncs.de was banned on Matrix as an alt of falaichte for ban evasion.
• falaichte was suspended for harassment and being disruptive on Matrix on multiple occasions.

I'm sure the list is incomplete - and I don't care.

I can confirm that they were previous aliases of mine, and unless noted otherwise the ban has been for Matrix only, not the platform as a whole. Usually if that is the case, then the ban is recorded in the ban list for both Matrix and the platform as a whole and specified as such.

All that I'm asking is that you treat me fairly in accordance with the Code of Conduct and follow proper procedure by including my name and the reason for your doing so in the log. I'm offering the benefit of the doubt here by spending my time following up on what I believe to be an unreasonable and unfair bar. The least you can do is show me the same common courtesy @mweinelt.

It is my understanding that the ban encompasses all community spaces, even though the infractions happend on Matrix. The initial ban is therefore sufficient, and it is not reasonable to request the mod team to track all your accounts.

That being said, I left the moderation team at the end of the last year, and with the current kerfuffle I wouldn't expect a reaction from the mod team too quickly.
