How can i create a card which is similar to quick links card, where end-user (read only permissions) can have this card in their customization pane,

please suggest me the how i can create a custom Adaptive card Extension card like quick links, where only Read-only users can personalize

I’ve deployed the SPFx(ACE) solution, and here’s the current behavior:

On the site page, users with read-only permissions cannot edit the page (as expected).

However, in the Viva Connections dashboard, those same users can add or remove the Adaptive Card from their own dashboard view.

Can you please confirm if this is the behavior you were expecting — that read-only users shouldn’t be able to edit the site page but can still personalize (add/remove) the Adaptive Card in their Connections app?

Hi @Ashlesha-MSFT, I’ve created a custom ACE card following this guide and deployed it in tenent . However, the card is currently available only for admins to add to the dashboard. My requirement is that when users click Customize and click on Add a card, they should also be able to see and add this card — similar to how users can see and add the Quick Links card.

I've tested the scenario and need to clarify the requirement:

Current behavior after adding Edit permissions:

• Users with Edit/Member permissions can see and add the card in Viva Connections
• However, this gives them broader edit rights on the site

Question for clarification:
Are you looking for read-only users (Site Visitors with no edit permissions) to be able to add this card to their personal Viva Connections dashboard?
If yes, this requires:

• Tenant-wide app deployment in the App Catalog (checking "Make this solution available to all sites")
• The card should then appear in the "Add a card" panel for all users, including read-only visitors

Could you confirm if the requirement is for:

• All users including read-only (Visitors) to personalize their dashboard, OR
• Only users with Edit permissions (Members) to add the card?
