[Bug] After Millenium is installed games such as Marvel Midnight Suns crash on startup (repro 10 of 10)

Describe the Bug

Without Millenium:

• Start Steam
• Start Marvel Midnight Suns
• Game starts

Install Millenium using "iwr -useb "https://steambrew.app/install.ps1" | iex".

With Millenium:

• Start Steam
• Start Marvel Midnight Suns
• Game crash when trying to launch (within <10s) every time

Launching Robocop: Rogue City works and these are the only games I have available to test atm. I suspect Firaxis releasing unstable games is par for the course but this still seems to be tied to whatever the Millenium script does. I know the game uses denuvo if that is relevant.

Repro count 10/10 (at least).

Expected Behavior

Game doesn't crash.

Steps To Reproduce

1. In Windows 11 - Install Millenium using "iwr -useb "https://steambrew.app/install.ps1" | iex" in an elevated Terminal.
2. Open Steam.
3. Try to launch the game Marvel Midnight Suns.
4. Notice how the game crashes immediately (with little to no visual indication other than Steam changing the status).

Completely reinstalling Steam and launching without installing Millenium makes the game start again. Installing only Millenium (no plugins, just the installation), next time you start Steam game now crashes every time.

I'm very interested in using Millenium and have no idea if this is one in a million or a taste of what may come with some games in the future. But regardless I hope I can help resolve this issue if possible and thank you kindly for developing and maintaining this tool. It offers great value if compatible with all, or worst case, most games.

Use the alpha release, I'm relatively confident I know what the issue is. If my hunch is right, its not inherently millenniums fault.

I'm keen to hear what you find!
In the meantime I've made a small script to toggle Millenium On/Off so with that the implication for me is minimal (restarting steam takes 10s).

If you get to it and want me to give the fix a test I'm more than willing to help.

Use the alpha release

Try the alpha release, we will go from there it should already be fixed there.

I've now tried to install the millennium-v2.31.0-alpha.5-windows-x86_64 in all the ways I can think of but alas, it does not work at all for me. I don't get access to Millennium in the menu, it looks as though the millennium.ini disappears on startup after installing the alpha and I'm also sorry to report that running the uninstall.ps1 does not properly clean up Millennium and presents me with an Error looking for millennium.dll every time I start Steam.

What I've tried:

• Downloading the zip and pasting the contents into the Steam folder.
• Uninstalling, then installing the latest stable build first - then replacing the files.
• Uninstalling, then pasting only the alpha files.
• Editing the install.ps1 to not exclude prereleases - thus installing using the modified install.ps1 script.
• Uninstalling, then running the modified install.ps1.

No matter what Millennium doesn't show when installed and leaves the error popup on Steam launch now.

Deleting the ext folder gets rid of the error above. Unsure if it is missing in the uninstall script or just an eroor on my end, pun intended!
