[Bug] Crash in JNI_OnLoad

Describe the bug

After upgrading to 12.0, 60% of our sessions began crashing on startup due to an assert in fbjni around either initializing twice or initializing with a null JavaVM.

It is happening across all android versions and devices.

Platform Information:

• OS: Android
• React Native Version 0.79.5
• Library Version 12.0.0

Additional context

I wish I had more information, but it is crashing immediately on startup and firebase isn't capturing the assertion string.
