It looks like no one is taking are of PRs If the Rainbow kit project is finally deprecated we have a working Reown AppKit integration spike here:

We fixed the reload WC bug in our repo (using pnpm patch) but we are waiting for them to fix this PR in their repo so that we can remove that patch:
rainbow-me/rainbowkit#2331
