Using Latex formula in md file

Hi. I am trying to include Latex formula in my blog, but they are not rendered in the website. I am using $ $ to enclose the formula in the md file and the website directly shows $ $ instead of the rendered formula.

Is this functionality supported? Is so, how can we use it?
