TYPO3 close button does not recognize changes in the RTE field

How to reproduce:

1. Edit a record with a RTE field
2. Make changes in the RTE field
3. Hit the "Close" button of the record.
4. Expected behaviour: TYPO3 detects the change and opens a modal where you can choose to cancel, save or discard the changes
5. Current behaviour: The record is closed directly and changes in the RTE field are gone
