Looks like I'm the first question here, so maybe this repository isn't monitored, but here goes anyway.

Steps I've done:

Launch rtsp server:
./mediamtx

Convert the USB camera to RTSP:
ffmpeg -i /dev/video0 -f rtsp rtsp://localhost:8554/mystream

here is output:

Ran ffplay to confirm streaming rtsp:

I get webcam footage in window...seems to be working

Launch kerberosio (sourced from snap - I'm on Ubuntu):
sudo kerberosio.agent -action=run -port=80
Here is output:

How do I add rtsp url in config file (what is the format), which config file, where?

Assuming rtsp url is found, what happens next? How do I get agent ui in browser?

I have a similar setup, but have not gotten it to work yet.

Setup

hardware: RPi5
Camera: HQ Camera
OS: Raspberry Pi OS (2025-5-13)

There are two docker images

Test

The camera-stream.service basically runs a .sh file containing:
rpicam-vid -t 0 --codec h264 --profile high --level 4.2 --inline --width 1920 --height 1080 --framerate 25 --libav-format h264 -o - | ffmpeg -f h264 -i - -c:v copy -f rtsp rtsp://localhost:8554/hqrpi5

From my laptop, using VLC, I can look at the stream no problem.

When I log onto Kerberos web interface its default settings is RPi Camera. I Assume the HQ camera is not supported as the settings explicitly mention Camera Module V1 and V2)
The Dashboard is stuck at: "Almost there, hold on.."

Thanks! I'll have a look. In the process of trying various things I do recall having seen another UI for the webinterface, maybe some link had me copy the wrong version (bit of a noob at this)

I now indeed have the UI that I saw earlier.

But entering rtsp://localhost:8554/hqrpi5 as the URL in Settings -> Camera
gives me the message I had seen earlier: Something went wrong while verifying the camera settings.: bad status code: 404 (Not Found) And indeed the stream is also not viewable from VLC anymore.
Running the .sh that starts the stream now fails after a few seconds in the terminal:

As to the changes made: I changed the following (see ExecStart part) to the .service file:

Update:
With the latest Kerberos and bluenviron/mediamtx:latest-rpi I got it to work indeed. Mediamtx updated things a little compared to what was written here (https://github.com/kerberos-io/camera-to-rtsp), but not much eventually.

In the end, I decided against using Kerberos as I intend to use it as a birdfeeder monitor and it ended up taking way to many videos. Currently setting up a script using cv2 and just stills. No UI (yet 😰), but we'll see...
