Proposal by User: Knative Helm Chart as Alternative to Operator

We were approached at KubeCon EU 24 by an End User who requested a need for a Knative Helm Chart.
They already tried to create a Helm Chart on their own, but faced some issues.

Todos:

• Reach out to End User and gather requirements / scope
• What issues did they encounter?
• Gather TOC / team feedback on value / need.
• Potential good first issue for new contributors.

Just talked about this in the Steering Committee Bi-Weekly. This is a topic for TOC. We are not sure, if a Helm Chart would add much value, that the YAML and Operator Install Options do not already provide.

I'm going to look at a helm chart using some of the techniques from https://github.com/nats-io/k8s/tree/main/helm/charts/nats, but will probably not be able to look at this for about 5 weeks (beginning of March)

We will have some paper prototypes (e.g. “If we installed these 5 YAMLs, you could build these kinds of apps”) then plan the configuration options accordingly.
