Double quotes added when I <a-p> in insert mode:

My yank stack looks like this:

When I create a new line and put: (o) I get this (""g) if I () again my line now looks like this (""""g) once again with () and my line now looks like this (""""""f).

I was able to trace it down to the "set clippboard=unnamed" but I am not sure how to fix it other than commenting this line out.
