x-extensible-enum is used just instead of a normal enum. The meaning is that you can extend the values in the enum without breaking the API contract. Therefore you show the API consumers that they have to deal with values popping up without notice. The concept is borrowed from here: https://opensource.zalando.com/restful-api-guidelines/index.html#112 |
