No "Log out" button

Expected behavior

"Log out" button visible in dropdown menu.

Actual behavior / bug

No "Log out" button visible in latest (above provided) release of web version.

My second instance of Pi-hole running at Docker Tag 2025.08.0, Core [v6.1.4], FTL [v6.2.3] Web interface [v6.2.1] normally displays "Log out" button.

I think the logout button is hidden when you explicitly have no password set, is that the case here?

No. I have web interface password set for both instances. I just logged in prior updating pihole.

Well something strange has happened on my end. There was no password indeed (after update). I just set it now back again and it's fine.

Is the one on which you saw the issue also docker? You can try setting it in a password file, or as an environment variable, and that will stop it from becoming unset on restart/update.

How did you set the password before?

The one where I reported this issue is installed as system service. Since you say that restart/update makes the password unset, I am trying to remember if I really updated the pihole first and then magically confused myself with why it has no password now. I would say that I did not update the pihole first, because I remember going to check my statistics, saw that there is an update and went to logout as my standard "procedure" after being done with pihole web.

Since you say that restart/update makes the password unset,

This only happens in containers created without FTLCONF_webserver_api_password, but this is not your case.
If you are running Pi-hole directly on your OS, all settings (including the password) will survive restarts and updates.
