Talos no longer (for many releases) wipes any disks on upgrades/installs unless you ask it specifically to. Just use User Volumes and you are good to go! |

Hi,
I'm planning to create a Talos cluster of 2 or 3 VM nodes to host a MariaDB database cluster. The VMs have an NVMe drive where the terabytes of database files will live, and I plan to map this using a hostPath volume.
My main concern is ensuring this data is secure and persistent, as I want to prevent any potential loss from Talos disk wipes during system upgrades or other maintenance.
What is the recommended setup for this scenario? Should the data be stored on a specific partition, or should I create a special volume for it?
Thanks in advance for your help!
