User Journeys and Top Tasks #123

Description

At least as an optional thing, having top tasks would be good. Maybe something like this AI generated statement:

4.2.5 Step 2.5: Define and Map Priority User Journeys (Optional)
Methodology Requirement 2.5: Define a set of prioritized User Journeys and Top Tasks that serve as a functionally-driven layer to inform the evaluation's Structured Sample Set (Step 3.1).

This step is designed to ensure the evaluation scope prioritizes the most frequent, critical, or business-essential interactions required to achieve the product's primary goals.

2.5.1: Identify Top Tasks
The evaluation team is encouraged to identify the Top Tasks—the most critical and/or frequent activities a user performs to achieve the product's primary goals—by drawing upon available data such as web analytics, user research, customer support data, and business objectives.

Outcome: A documented list of high-priority Top Tasks (e.g., "Complete a purchase," "Submit a support request," "Apply for an account").

2.5.2: Map End-to-End User Journeys
For each identified Top Task, document the full, end-to-end User Journey that a user follows, encompassing all views, dynamic states, interactions, and potential error messages.

Note: Where this step is followed, the resulting journeys provide a validated framework for identifying the Complete Processes required by WCAG 2 conformance (Step 4.2).

2.5.3: Select Journey-Based Samples
The documented User Journeys must be used to select a corresponding set of samples that cover every unique template, component, and interaction pattern encountered within these critical processes. These samples will be integrated into the Structured Sample Set (Step 3.1).

Outcome: A documented link between the critical user journeys and the samples selected for the Structured Sample Set.

Looking at 4.2 Step 2: Explore the Target Digital Product, there are ways to involve generic Google searches here. For instance, for a municipal site, searching for "Garbage pickup Rotterdam" might be valuable to include. also 4.2.2 Step 2.2: Identify Essential Functionality of the Product
