This should theoretically allow FunctionWrappers or callable structs to be used, though serialization may be an issue.

Building upon #347 this adds the notion of a URI/ID
This would be useful in JuliaPerf/Valgrind.jl#1 to add the necessary metadata to understand what profile data
belongs to which benchmark.
