gcloud plugin

gcloud WASM plugin for proto.

Installation

This is a community plugin and is thus not built-in to proto. In order to use it, add the following to .prototools:

[plugins]
gcloud = "github://ageha734/proto-gcloud"

Or preferably pin a specific version, to avoid nasty surprises if we mess up a release:

proto plugin add gcloud github://ageha734/proto-gcloud

Usage

# install latest SDK
proto install gcloud

# install a specific version
proto install gcloud 519.0.0

Configuration

gcloud plugin does not support configuration.

Hooks

gcloud plugin does not support hooks.

Contributing

Build the plugin:

rustup target add wasm32-wasip1
cargo build --target wasm32-wasip1

Test the plugin by running proto commands.

proto install gcloud-test
proto list-remote gcloud-test

Development Tools

Version Management

Use the scripts/tag.sh script to bump version and create git tags:

# Bump patch version (default): 0.1.2 -> 0.1.3
./scripts/tag.sh
./scripts/tag.sh patch

# Bump minor version: 0.1.2 -> 0.2.0
./scripts/tag.sh minor

# Bump major version: 0.1.2 -> 1.0.0
./scripts/tag.sh major

The script will:

• Update version in Cargo.toml
• Update Cargo.lock
• Create a git commit
• Create a git tag

Note: CHANGELOG.md is automatically updated by GitHub Actions when the tag is pushed.

Code Quality

# Format code
cargo fmt --all

# Run linter
cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets

# Run tests
cargo test
