The unified formats.html docs page have been removed years ago. The current help feels detailed enough that I just simply removed the link rather than adding back multiple new ones that replaced that single link.

Thank you for making this pull request.

Did you know? You can try it on Binder: Binder:lab or Binder:notebook.

Also, the version of Jupytext developed in this PR can be installed with pip:

HATCH_BUILD_HOOKS_ENABLE=true pip install git+https://github.com/bsipocz/jupytext.git@DOC_remove_nonexistent_link

(this requires nodejs, see more at Developing Jupytext)

Hello @bsipocz , thank you for spotting this!

I have just added a redirect on the documentation site from the old https://jupytext.readthedocs.io/en/latest/formats.html to https://jupytext.readthedocs.io/en/latest/formats-scripts.html, but indeed we can fix the link as well.

I would prefer to keep a pointer to the documentation, maybe we could use https://jupytext.readthedocs.io/en/latest/formats-scripts.html ? It would likely be too verbose to include the markdown link, but it's the next page in the documentation so the former should be good enough?

OK, I've added back the link.
However, FWIW I was more interested in the markdown formats when stumbled upon this, so linking to the scripts would not help finding that page.
