These changes were probably intended for the v8 docs (definitely are relevant to it), but i'm not sure i can add to this PR, so i may do it in a separate one.

Yup intended for the v8 docs :) related to your RFC for sure, wanted to keep the links from breaking.

If adding to this PR is somehow easier than creating a new one, let me know and we can figure out how to make that happen.

i'm afraid i don't have those permissions (or is there another way?)

However – i had already forgotten today about this PR when i did this one this afternoon: #11892

I'll just rebase on main when this is merged, then everything should be complete for the time being. 😃
