Installation

Prerequisites

Before installing mcp-windbg, ensure you have the required dependencies:

See Prerequisites Guide - Complete setup including Windows Debugging Tools, Python/uv installation, and client requirements.

Choose Your Client

Select the installation guide for your preferred client:

Install in VS Code

For GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code with uvx or pip installation.

Install in Claude Desktop

For Claude Desktop application with uvx installation.

Install in GitHub Copilot CLI

For other MCP-compatible clients and frameworks.

Verification

1. Restart your client (VS Code or MCP client)
2. Open workspace with appropriate configuration
3. Enable MCP in client settings
4. Test: Ask Copilot to list crash dumps
